United States President Joe Biden welcomed President-elect Donald Trump to the White House for tea ahead of Trump's inauguration.
The meeting took place in the Blue Room and was part of a longstanding tradition that signifies the peaceful transfer of power. Trump and Biden shook hands, and the four of them posed for photos at the north entrance of the White House. "Welcome home," Biden said.
Previously, Biden and Jill Biden bid farewell to Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff, in a final meeting at the North Portico.
