Outgoing United States President Joe Biden tweeted on Wednesday that his country and other mediators in the negotiations between Israel and Hamas – Turkey, Egypt, and Qatar –, as well as other partners, will make "another push" toward achieving a ceasefire in Gaza.
Biden stressed that the truce would have to be "with the hostages released" and lead to "an end to the war without Hamas in power."
Biden's comment came after he announced Israel and Hezbollah agreed to a ceasefire in Lebanon. Meanwhile, Hamas said it would be willing to a truce in Gaza.
