United States President Joe Biden said on Thursday that more and more companies are investing in semiconductor factories in the US and claimed Chinese President Xi Jinping told him he is "a little concerned about that."
Speaking at an event marking Micron's $100 billion investment in the US, Biden insisted that he told the Chines leader that "it is not about conflict, it's about competition." The US president added that America is "back in the game" and "competing again."
According to Biden, his CHIPS and Science Act is what is bringing more chip companies to invest in the US and noted it will help American companies build computers and other products without worrying about delays in getting components in case of a pandemic or "some other supply chain issue."
