Binance Holdings Ltd. condemned on Monday the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) complaint, stressing that it will "vigorously" defend itself against any allegations.
In a statement, the company insisted that from the beginning, it has cooperated with the US regulator's investigations, working hard to address all the questions and concerns. "But despite our efforts, with its complaint today the SEC abandoned that process and instead chose to act unilaterally and litigate," Binance said.
The company stated that the SEC's failure to "productively" engage in discussions "is just another example of the Commission’s misguided and conscious refusal to provide much-needed clarity and guidance to the digital asset industry." Binance underlined that "unilaterally labeling certain tokens and services as securities" only creates more issues.
