United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken had a phone call with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, where they discussed the extension and expansion of the ceasefire in Sudan as well as a coordinated humanitarian response, State Department Spokesman Matthew Miller announced.
Both officials agreed to continue close consultation on efforts to achieve a "durable cessation of hostilities in Sudan," according to Miller.
The talks between the two officials come amid deadly clashes between the Sudanese military and a group of para-militants, which resulted in over 500 deaths in the past few weeks.
