Blinken cannot verify if Bin Laden's son is still alive

United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated on Wednesday that he could not confirm with certainty whether Hamza bin Laden, the son of al-Qaeda's deceased leader Osama bin Laden, is still alive.

The son of the infamous al-Qaeda leader was reported to have been killed in a US operation in 2019. However, new reports suggest that Hamza bin Laden may still be alive and potentially leading al-Qaeda, Republican Representative Tim Burchett revealed during Blinken's testimony before the House Foreign Affairs Committee, adding that footage showed al-Qaeda militants fighting alongside the Taliban in Afghanistan.
