Presenting the Biden administration's policy on China, United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken will say on Thursday that Washington's strategy is to "invest, align, compete."
The US government will invest in "competitiveness, innovation, and democracy," will align its efforts with allies and partners and will "compete with China to defend our interests and build our vision for the future," excerpts from his upcoming speech at George Washington University revealed.
In his speech, Blinken will claim that China is the "most serious long-term challenge to the international order" and that the US will "shape the strategic environment around Beijing to advance our vision for an open and inclusive international system." However, he will also note that Washington "will work together with Beijing where our interests overlap."
