Former Senator Bob Menendez was sentenced on Wednesday to 11 years in federal prison on corruption charges.

"I have dedicated my entire life to the service of others," he said. "I am far from a perfect man, but I believe in my half-century of public service, I have done more good than bad."

The 71-year-old man was found guilty on all 16 counts last year in his federal trial for acting as a foreign agent for Egypt and abusing the power of his office in exchange for bribes in the form of gold bars, a luxury car and other items.
