The Boeing Company promoted Matt Welch to vice president and chief financial officer of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, effective May 5, as per the company statement published on Thursday.
Welch will now oversee all financial planning and analysis for Boeing's Commercial Airplanes division. He moves into the role after serving as vice president of Investor Relations, where he is succeeded by Eric Hill, who most recently held the role of vice president of Finance for Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers at Boeing Defense, Space & Security. Boeing CFO Brian West lauded the move, saying that Hill's "time in investment banking will serve him well" as he guides interactions with shareholders and financial analysts.
