Borrell urges China, EU and US to work together

European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell urged China, the European Union, and the United States on Friday to work together.

"My question to China is how can we make this interdependency less conflictual," Borrell said in a speech at Peking University while stressing the block is not opposed to the remarkable economic rise of China.

The chief of European diplomacy is on an official visit to Beijing until October 14.

China, EU to restart talks on EV, brandy tariffs
The Chinese Commerce Ministry said on Thursday that China and the European Union will restart negotiations on tariffs following European Trade Commissioner Maros Sefcovic's visit to Beijing. China extends probe into EU brandy until July
The Chinese Commerce Ministry said on Wednesday that it will prolong an anti-dumping investigation into brandy imported from the European Union until July 5 due to its complexity.The probe was launched in January 2024 and was already extended once until April 2025. China imposed tariffs on brandy from the EU in November 2024 citing a "threat of substantial damage" to the domestic market. The EU challenged the decision at the World Trade Organization.
