European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made it clear that Israel will not stop "until Hezbollah is destroyed."
"If the interpretation of being destroyed is the same as with Hamas, then we are going to go for a long war," Borrell told the journalists at the United Nations General Assembly. "What we do is to put all diplomatic pressure to a ceasefire, but nobody seems to be able to stop Netanyahu, neither in Gaza nor in the West Bank," Borell added.
Between the night of September 27 and 28, the Israeli military launched multiple airstrikes across Lebanon, targeting key Hezbollah sites in Beirut.
