White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated on Friday, during a regular press briefing, that the Biden administration is doing everything to tackle the issue of rising gas prices. "All of the work the [United States] President [Joe Biden] has done, has helped blunt the price increase," the spokeswoman stated, accusing Russian President Vladimir Putin's war in Ukraine as responsible for the price growth.

Jean-Pierre noted that the Biden administration has so far called for the release of 1 million barrels per day from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, as well as for the biofuels that are only available in the winter time to be available in the summer time as well. She noted that although the gas prices have gone down about 25 cents, the administration is aware that this is not enough and for that reason will continue to tackle the issue actively.
