ByteDance reportedly to cut jobs in gaming branch

TikTok's parent ByteDance Ltd. is eliminating hundreds of jobs from its gaming-focused unit, Nuverse, CNBC reported on Monday, citing a source familiar with the matter.

"We regularly review our businesses and make adjustments to center on long-term strategic growth areas. Following a recent review, we've made the difficult decision to restructure our gaming business," that person explained.

The source added that Nuverse will continue to exist but with fewer employees, who were told to halt developing unreleased games.
