OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said his company is looking to secure funds from Microsoft Corp. to develop artificial general intelligence (AGI). Speaking to the Financial Times, Altman expressed hope that OpenAI will be able to "raise a lot more over time" from the tech giant and that "we both make money on each other’s success, and everybody is happy."

While Altman said OpenAI's revenue growth "has been good this year," he added that "there's a long way to go" before AGI and that "training expenses are just huge." He said the company is also working on the next version of its AI model, GPT 5, although he did not reveal details on its progress or release date.
