Walgreens Boots Alliance announced on Friday Roz Brewer's departure from her role as the company's CEO. Furthermore, she has also resigned from the company's board, with her departure being effective as of Thursday.
According to the issued statement, the decision was made through mutual agreement. The board appointed Ginger Graham, the current WBA Lead Independent Director, as the company's interim CEO. Ms. Brewer has agreed to continue advising WBA while the company conducts a search for a permanent CEO.
"I am grateful to have had the opportunity to lead Walgreens Boots Alliance and to work alongside such talented and dedicated colleagues. I am proud of what we accomplished together. We have improved the lives of our employees, expanded healthcare services for our customers, and enhanced our ability to fulfill our purpose of 'creating more joyful lives through better health,'" Brewer stated.
