CEO: Microsoft likely to develop its own generative AI

Microsoft Corporation Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Satya Nadella said in an interview with Nikkei on Thursday that the company is considering developing its own high-end generative artificial intelligence (AI).

"We will build our own capability to complement all we're doing with OpenAI," the executive stated, adding that the tech giant will offer such technology if it finds that the service can provide added value to customers.

Microsoft has long been using the technology of ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI, but having its own platform would make optimizing services for its business software much easier, the CEO said.
