CSTO handing over protected objects back to Kazakhstan

The Collective Security Treaty Organization's (CSTO) peacekeeping troops started handing over protected objects back to Kazakh authorities as they prepare to leave the country, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Thursday.

"In accordance with the plan developed by the command of the collective peacekeeping forces of the CSTO and the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan, the transfer of socially significant objects guarded by peacekeepers to law enforcement agencies of the country began," the ministry stated.

Earlier this week, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced CSTO forces that were deployed to the country amid violent protests will start withdrawing this week.
