The private equity and investment advisory firm CVC Capital Partners wants to embark on a transformative journey in rugby union with a plan called 'Proyect Amplify' which aims to modernize and unify the sport, addressing its fragmented structure.
According to the Financial Times report on Saturday, CVC is already closely working with rugby executives promising to "reshape" the sport, a "significant growth" and to produce a "year-long festival for fans." Chief Executive Officer of Six Nations Rugby Tom Harrison emphasized the importance of collective thinking for the sport's health.
From five of the major rugby tournaments, CVC holds 27% stakes from the Premiership, 28% from the United Rugby Championship, and 14.3% from the Six Nations, the media said.
