Canadian inflation down from 2.6% to 2.3% in March

Canada's consumer price index (CPI) rose by 2.3% in March on a yearly basis, Statistics Canada said in a report on Tuesday. The figure was down from the 2.6% annual inflation measured in February and came in lower than expected.

The fall was mainly attributed to lower prices for travel tours and gasoline, which dropped by 4.7% and 1.6% year-on-year respectively. On a monthly basis, the CPI added 0.3% in March.
