Saudi Arabia's Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman said on Wednesday that Riyadh and Beijing will be looking for ways to improve their partnership when it comes to energy supply chains, including "establishing a regional center" in Saudi Arabia for Chinese factories.
The two countries are also jointly working on several energy-related projects and on "investment in integrated refining and petrochemical complexes in both countries," he told the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). Riyadh will "remain China's credible and reliable partner" in "maintaining the stability" of the global energy market, the minister pointed out, adding that "China has become the top destination" for his country's oil exports.
Chinese President Xi Jinping landed in Riyadh earlier in the day and will hold a series of high-level meetings in Saudi Arabia this week.
