China's Xi: Support for Korean denuclearization

Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed on Wednesday his support for the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula in his phone call with South Korean President Moon Jae-in, Cheong Wa Dae (Blue House) stated on Wednesday.

According to the Blue House, Xi added he hoped the two countries could continue to work together on trade and have Seoul join the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) soon.

China previously urged both Koreas to cooperate through dialogue to ensure peace in the zone and offered its help in the process. It also expressed its optimism about working with South Korea on boosting regional interests and stability.
