China car sales jump 20.9% in June

China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) said in a preliminary report on Wednesday that passenger car sales in the country stood at 2.45 million units in June, surging 20.9% year on year.

On a monthly basis, sales soared 34.4% amid the lockdowns introduced to fight the latest COVID-19 spikes in the country.

Since the start of the year, 12 million cars have been sold in China, which is 7.1% less than in the same period in 2021.
