China criticizes EU's rejection of EV proposal

The Chinese Commerce Ministry reacted with disappointment on Friday to the European Union's decision to reject a proposal by Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers on minimum import prices. "The EU side claims to be willing to resolve the issue through dialogue, but it quickly and hastily rejected the Chinese proposal without offering any specific plan," the ministry said.

The ministry claimed that the EU's rejection "does not show any sincerity in meeting each other halfway," according to the Global Times. It added that, if bilateral negotiations on electric vehicles fail, "the responsibility lies entirely with the EU side."
