The Chinese Ministry of Commerce announced on Wednesday in a statement that it will be extending its anti-dumping investigation into brandy coming from the European Union to April 5, 2025.

The probe was originally opened at the beginning of this year with the primary focus on brandy in containers carrying no more than 200 liters. In the latest statement, the ministry explained that the extension will be applied due to the "complexity of the case."

In October 2024, Beijing slapped tariffs on European brandy, after the bloc imposed duties on electric vehicles originating from China.
