Beijing's Commerce Ministry announced on Thursday that China is removing the tariffs imposed on Australian wine imports. The measure will take effect on March 29.
"The Ministry of Commerce ruled that, in view of the changes in the relevant wine market conditions in China, it is no longer necessary to impose anti-dumping duties and countervailing duties on imported relevant wines originated in Australia," the ruling states.
On November 28, 2020, the Asian giant implemented "temporary" anti-dumping tariffs to counteract dumping practices, ranging from 107.1% to 212.1%, on the importation of wine from the Australasian country. The issue involved the intervention of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
