China willing to expand ties with Australia

China's Vice President Han Zheng expressed on Tuesday Beijing's willingness to expand bilateral ties with Australia, noting that the expansion of cooperation between the two countries is important for stability in the Asia-Pacific region, the Xinhua News Agency reported.

Han met with the President of the Australian Senate Sue Lines in Beijing, with the latter official stressing that cooperation between China and Australia "benefits people."

Lines went on to meet with the Head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee Liu Jianchao to discuss the development of the strategic partnership between China and Australia.
