The United States Justice Department has asked the New York federal judge to drop the case against New York City Mayor Eric Adams, which was scheduled to go to trial on April 21, CNN reported.
Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove and prosecutors Ed Sullivan and Antoinette Bacon signed the filing, moving to dismiss all charges against the mayor, who denied all charges and entered a plea of not guilty.
Earlier this week, interim attorney for the Southern District of New York, Danielle Sassoon, resigned when she was ordered to drop the charges against the New York City mayor.
