Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) spokesman Eduard Basurin underscored on Tuesday that their troops did not use chemical weapons in their offensive in the city of Mariupol, according to Interfax Russia.
Previously, Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar shared in a televised appearance that "there is a theory that these [weapons] could be phosphorus munitions," adding that more information will be released later during the day.
