Head of the separatist Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Denis Pushilin said on Monday that the DPR has so far not received any appeals from the governments of the United Kingdom and Morocco over the death sentences for their captured citizens. Two British and one Moroccan national fighting in the Ukrainian army were convicted earlier this month after being captured by pro-Russian forces.
British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss vowed last week to do "whatever is necessary" to secure the release of the UK citizens and accused the DPR of conducting an "abhorrent show trial" and committing an "egregious breach of the Geneva convention."
