Defense of US soldier arrested in Russia appeals detention

The defense representing Gordon Black, a United States soldier arrested in Vladivostok on theft charges, appealed his detention, RIA Novosti reported on Monday.

"A complaint was received from the defense, a deadline was given for raising objections until May 20," Elena Oleneva, a spokesperson for the Pervomaisky District Court in Vladivostok was quoted as having said.
