World no. 1 tennis player Novak Djokovic said on Monday that he is still looking towards playing at this year's Australian Open grand slam later this month despite the treatment he has received so far in Australia.
"I'm pleased and grateful that the Judge overturned my visa cancellation. Despite all that has happened, I want to stay and try to compete at Australian Open. I remain focused on that. I flew here to play at one of the most important events we have in front of the amazing fans," Djokovic shared in a Twitter post.
Earlier today, federal judge Anthony Kelly quashed the decision to cancel Novak Djokovic's visa and ordered his release from detention. However, his participation remains uncertain due to the government's efforts to get him deported from the country.
