United States Attorney General Pam Bondi said on Thursday that the Justice Department (DoJ) has indicted three individuals over alleged arson attacks against Tesla dealerships across the country. Bondi further threatened that the defendants would "face the full force of the law" and vowed to go after those responsible for attacks against the company's property.
"The days of committing crimes without consequence have ended. Let this be a warning: if you join this wave of domestic terrorism against Tesla properties, the Department of Justice will put you behind bars,” Bondi stated. The DoJ said that the defendants were arrested in Oregon, Colorado, and South Carolina for throwing Molotov cocktails at local Tesla dealerships.
If convicted, the defendants could spend up to 20 years in prison, while the minimum penalty for the offenses they are charged with is five years.
