United States stock market indexes increased further on Thursday in a rally dominated by tech companies and seemingly sparked by Meta's better-than-expected first-quarter earnings report and projections.
The Dow Jones soared 1.23% or 409 points, the Nasdaq 100 surged 2.51% and the S&P 500 rose by 1.56% at 1:47 pm ET. Meta's 15% jump led the gains on the Nasdaq 100 and on the S&P 500.
The euro was 0.15% lower than the dollar, going for 1.10241 a minute later.
