Dow jumps 400 pts as Congress acts on Russia tariffs

EPA-EFE/JUSTIN LANE

Meanwhile, a report revealed AstraZeneca could withdraw the application for the approval of its COVID-19 vaccine in the US, and Amazon Inc. closed the $8.45 billion acquisition of MGM film and TV studios.

The Dow Jones jumped 1.23% or 417 points at the close. The Nasdaq 100 rose 1.16% or 161 points. The S&P 500 advanced 1.23% for the best three-day gain since November 2020. The euro climbed 0.56% against the dollar to sell for 1.10972 at 3:59 pm ET.
