The US continued high-level diplomatic contacts with Russia while negotiations with Iran about its nuclear program were set to take place on April 12 in Oman, raising hopes in a diplomatic solution to the standoff between Washington and Tehran.
The Dow Jones gained ground, expanding 1.56% after Apple rose 4.06%. The Nasdaq 100 jumped 1.89% with MicroStrategy surging 10.15%. The S&P 500 advanced 1.81% as Monolithic Power Systems soared 9.99%.
When it comes to currencies, the euro strengthened 1.26% against the dollar at 3:59 pm ET and exchanged for $1.13421.
