European Commission Executive Vice-President and European Trade Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis remarked on Tuesday that he expects the 14th sanctions package against Russia to be approved by the European Union member states "as soon as possible."
"Last week, the European Commission approved a proposal for the 14th package of sanctions, which is aimed at further weakening the military-industrial complex of the Russian Federation, including new measures to combat circumvention of restrictions," he detailed at a press conference in Brussels.
Meanwhile, Finance Minister of the Belgian Presidency of the European Council Vincent Van Peteghem said after a meeting that the bloc will make a "political decision" on Russia's frozen assets next week.
