European Trade Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis reiterated on Wednesday, while talking to Atlantic Council's Jorn Fleck on the sidelines of the IMF-World Bank Spring Meetings, that should negotiations between the European Union and the United States on the issue of tariffs fail, the bloc is ready to "come with counter tariffs."
While the EU had already approved the first countermeasure package previously, it decided to postpone its implementation, as US President Donald Trump partially pushed back his planned duties for 90 days.
"We would welcome more clarity on the US side, on what are exactly [their] expectations and how we can arrive to the solutions without this imposition of additional tariffs," he said.
