Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov stated on Thursday that neither Ukraine nor the US wants to reach peace with Russia.

Antonov stressed in a statement that Kiev and Washington are focusing on "war, the death of soldiers, and further tying the Ukrainian regime to the needs of Washington." The narrative being pushed forward, where Russia is not striving to reach a peace agreement, is false, the envoy underlined.

Touching upon the subject of Patriot air defense systems, Antonov said that Moscow has tried, time and again, to warn against such a move. However, now that this equipment will be delivered to Kiev, he asserted that "the provocative actions of the US are steadily leading to an escalation."
