The euro decreased compared to the United States dollar on Tuesday, landing at the weakest point since June 2020 after the Russian military allegedly hit a television tower in Kiev, killing five people in the process. The escalation of the conflict presumably turned investors' attention to safe-haven assets, such as the dollar.
The euro was 0.93% lower against the greenback at 12:02 pm ET, trading at 1.11040. The British pound was 0.73% down compared to the American currency, going for 1.33140 at 12:04 pm ET.
