The Ukrainian government confirmed on Tuesday that a Russian missile hit the control room of the Kiev TV Tower, interrupting the broadcast of some channels and killing at least five people.
The Internal Affairs Ministry informed that it would put backup relays into work in order to return the broadcast. "Russian troops fired on the TV tower, near the Babi Yar Holocaust Memorial Center. Russian criminals do not stop at anything in their barbarism," the Foreign Ministry insisted in a separate Twitter post.
The TV tower of Ukraine's capital city is the second tallest freestanding lattice tower in the world after the Tokyo Sky Tree, built in 1973.
