European stock markets closed higher on Friday as market participants analyzed the latest data on the United Kingdom's Composite PMI and the Eurozone unemployment rate. In addition, Societe Generale, Credit Agricole S.A., and Daimler Truck released their first-quarter results before the opening bell.
During the session, Spanish fashion and fragrance house Puig Brands S.A., debuted on the Spanish stock exchanges on Friday at a price of €25.54 per Class B share, up 4.2% from the initial public offering price.
The DAX closed 0.59% higher with Henkel AG surging 7.22%. The Euro Stoxx 50 increased by 0.63% as ASML Holding NV soared 3.02%. The FTSE 100 rose by 0.51% with Phoenix Group Holdings PLC boosting the index up by 6.45%. The CAC 40 closed 0.54% up as Edenred SA improved 3.03%.
The euro increased 0.47% against the dollar at 5:29 pm CET, selling for 1.07760. The pound rose 0.21% against the greenback and went for 1.25593 at the same time.
