The price of European gas was down over 15% on Tuesday as the European Union looks for ways to secure its energy for the winter season. On Monday, German energy company Uniper said it secured liquefied natural gas supplies until 2039, although its CEO warned that ''the worst is still to come'' as gas prices remain historically high, jumping 235% in a year. Meanwhile, the Nord Stream gas pipeline is still not operational due to a leak, according to Russia.
UK natural gas futures for delivery in October fell 15.67% to 390 pence per therm at 12:56 pm CET.
