Former attorney of ex-United States President Donald Trump, John Eastman (pictured), pleaded not guilty to charges in the Arizona "fake electors" case. Eastman was accused of being involved in attempts to overturn current President Joe Biden's win in the 2020 elections.

"I had zero communications with the electors in Arizona, zero involvement in any of the election litigation in Arizona or legislative hearings. And I’m confident that with the laws faithfully applied I will be fully exonerated at the end of this process," CNBC quoted him as saying outside court.

Eastman is the first out of 18 defendants in the case to be arraigned. The others will be arraigned in the weeks to come.
