Former United Kingdom Theresa May is among the people who will receive peerages after being nominated by current Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Downing Street said on Thursday.
Downing Street released a dissolution peerage list amid today's general election and noted that King Charles III "has been graciously pleased to signify" his intention to give peerages to May and 18 others. Among other future peers nominated by Sunak were also outgoing Conservative Private Members' (1922) Committee Chairman Graham Brady, former Justice Secretary Chris Grayling and the current Downing Street Chief of Staff Liam Booth-Smith.
Meanwhile, Labour leader Keir Starmer nominated eight people, including former Foreign Secretary Margaret Beckett and ex-Labour Deputy Leader Harriet Harman.
