Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto told reporters in Luxembourg on Monday that the country refuses to negotiate on the matter of possibly banning Russian gas.

Szijjarto announced that limiting gas deliveries from Russia to Europe would "undermine Hungary's economy" and that the country is not willing to discuss such a proposal.

Earlier today, European Council adopted a regulation aiming to ensure gas supply for the next winter amid shortage concerns as some EU member states already warned that they are only a step away from gas rationing, as the conflict in Ukraine continues.
