Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico confirmed on Friday in a post on Facebook that Slovakia is ready to be the host of potential peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.
Previously, Russian President Vladimir Putin shared that Moscow was open to holding discussions with Ukraine, adding that there were no preconditions for the talks to start. Meanwhile, media reports claimed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was thinking about possibly having a conversation with Russia on the matter.
In the same social media post, Fico once again criticized Zelensky and the possible blockage of the gas transit, saying that this would cause "billions in damage to the European Union" and would also reduce the bloc's competitiveness.
