Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia on Friday of attacking his country's energy infrastructure on two occasions during the past 24 hours, in violation of the agreement to halt strikes on energy sites.
"There was a targeted Russian drone strike on gas infrastructure in the Poltava region. There was also an artillery strike on Kherson, which damaged the city’s power infrastructure. Yesterday, one of Russia’s attacks on Kharkiv damaged the city’s heating supply infrastructure," he wrote on X.
Pressure on Russia is needed to force Putin to accept diplomacy, Zelensky concluded, adding that the Russian leader aims to prolong the war.
