Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (pictured) in a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas called on Washington to stop the resettling of illegal migrants in Florida, suggesting for the individuals to either be deported or sent to a different federal state.
"While Floridians are working to ensure that criminal aliens are not released back into our communities, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) appears to be hard at work resettling ever larger numbers of illegal aliens who have no lawful status under federal immigration law from the southwest border to Florida," said DeSantis.
Many migrants have been released into the country after President Joe Biden took office and dismantled the Trump-era immigration policy, known as the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP).
