Ford Motor Company CEO Jim Farley said on Thursday that the carmaker did not receive a counteroffer from the United Auto Workers union or its President Shawn Fain.
Only seven hours before the expiry of labor contracts that should be negotiated more intensively, "nothing is going on," Farley told CNBC. "In 80 years, we've always been able to work through these differences" but now, "when we get to these marquee money issues, everything stops" in the negotiations, he pointed out.
"It's a mystery... we've been negotiating with ourselves since [August] 29, for two weeks," Farley also revealed.
