United States Embassy in Vilnius stated in a press release on Wednesday that four American soldiers were reported missing in a training area near the Lithuanian city of Pabrade, near the country's border with Belarus.

According to the press release, the search party for the four soldiers includes the US Army, Lithuanian Armed Forces, and Lithuanian law enforcement. The soldiers were reportedly conducting regular tactical training when they went missing.

"I would like to personally thank the Lithuanian Armed Forces and first responders who quickly came to our aid in our search operations," the commanding general of the V Corps, Lt. Gen. Charles Costanza, said. "It's this kind of teamwork and support that exemplifies the importance of our partnership and our humanity regardless of what flags we wear on our shoulders," he added.
